Indiana's Bio
In August 2012, she became an apprentice with NYCB and officially joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in December 2012. Over the years, Indiana's skill and artistry propelled her career, and she was promoted to the rank of soloist dancer in February 2017, and ultimately to principal dancer in October 2021. Indiana is world renowned ballet dancer and teacher.
Throughout her career, Indiana has danced leading roles in many of NYCB’s most celebrated productions. She has performed as Juliet in Peter Martins’ "Romeo + Juliet," Aurora in "The Sleeping Beauty" and the Sugarplum Fairy in George Balanchine’s "The Nutcracker." Additionally, she is known for her dynamic interpretations of Balanchine's masterpieces, including "Allegro Brillante," "Who Cares?" and "Serenade." Indiana has also originated roles in new works by contemporary choreographers such as Justin Peck and Alexei Ratmansky, further solidifying her reputation as a versatile and expressive artist.
Take Class with Indiana Woodward
Indiana Woodward co-founded Grace & Form to share ballet classes and supplementary movement practices designed for every body, and every body. Indiana teaches an array of ballet classes: beginner adult ballet class, advanced beginner ballet, intermediate ballet and professional level. She also shares useful stretching sequences, and workout flows to target different parts of the body: sculpting for stronger muscles, stretching for release and recovery.
